Can others access TRACSLab?
Yes, the laboratory is open to other researchers. Against a fee we provide access to TRACSLab@UNSW, or TRACSLab@USYD, or both, and we have experienced lab operators to run the simulators. Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
What is involved?
A driving simulator experiment requires the following steps, many of which we can help with:
- Ethics approval
- 3D environment and scenario development
- Participant recruitment and scheduling
- Running simulator sessions
- Data processing
- Data analysis
How do I create my own 3D environment? Do I have to?
TRACSLab has a number of 3D environments - including a detailed recreation of Darlington, New South Wales, Australia - that we have created and are available for use for studies conducted using TRACSLab. If your work can make use of one of these environments then you do not have to create your own. On the other hand, if you need to create a specific environment for your study then you are able to create it in any program that will produce either VRML or OpenFlight files.
How does the process work?
